Is the MA LTC safety course the correct course to take in order to receive my certificate and be able to apply for my gun permit?
Yes, this course is approved by the Massachusetts State Police to apply for your LTC.
What should I bring to the class?
For the MA LTC Safety Course we recommend a pad of paper and a pen for taking notes. Every class will require a valid form of identification. All practical training classes will provide specific information about training equipment to be used.
Does Greater Boston Gun Safety School guarantee that I will get my gun license?
No, there is a no-money back guarantee. If you are 21 years old and apply for your license within one year of receiving your MA LTC Certificate from our school, have good references and a clean criminal record and fulfill all other requirements as set forth from your local police department, such as letters of reference or live fire requirements, then we guarantee you will get your gun license.
Will I be shooting a gun during this class?
There is no shooting component for the MA LTC Safety Course and no experience is necessary. This course follows the Massachusetts Approved Course curriculum requirements. Certain towns such as Quincy, Weymouth, and Brookline require live fire training. Please check with your local police for additional requirements.
* Our instructors do offer live-fire range time for an additional fee in the class. Instructions on how to sign up and pay for range time will be done by the instructor for your course date.
Will I handle real guns in the MA LTC Safety Course?
Yes, the instructors will teach you how to load and unload a gun, as well as show you all of the gun's operational parts.
How long is the class?
Class lengths can be found in the class description. Classes shall not exceed 4 hours.
Will I receive my certificate at the end of the MA LTC Safety Course?
Yes, upon completion of the class you will receive the Massachusetts State Police certificate that is a requirement to apply for your LTC.
Is there free parking on-site?
Yes, there is plenty of free street parking, as well as parking behind our building.
